On seeing this documentary again, I’ve come to the conclusion that it was Shauna Grant’s parents who may have contributed to her general malaise and not necessarily the porn industry. Her parents seemed to be about as affectionate as doorknobs. They seemed to be more about discipline than they were about showing love and approval. When the father and mother stated that they didn’t think her early suicide attempt was a sign of a problem, that they thought it was their daughter wanting to get attention, that perfectly illustrated my point as to how clueless they were about Colleen.
