When you’re aunt has a beach house, you vacation there! Such was the case for these Rye Beach NH Family Photos. Caitlin wanted a photo of the whole fam-damily while they were up soaking in the late July sun. I was happy to oblige! Mother nature, however, had a difference of opinion. The day of the session was gorgeous, all day, until about 2 hours before we were set to meet when these crazy thunderstorms lined up across the state and came barreling towards the coast.
A beach boy who doubles up as an agent, helping with paperwork, flight bookings and hotels — in his own words, he “links up his colleagues to rich white women” — argued that they choose to travel abroad, especially those who are the only breadwinners for their family. “In most cases, they come to me for help. I am only trying to save them from a lifetime of poverty through connecting them to rich individuals,” he said.

The tranquil bay with a natural, undeveloped backdrop, is like a vast, shallow paddling pool and you can hire kayaks and paddleboards from local operator
It seems invidious to choose only one Pembrokeshire beach – Barafundle and Whitesands are both hard to resist – but Marloes is very special. The half-mile cliff walk puts the crowds off, and there are no facilities at all. Yet you have a mile of broad sweeping sand dotted with towering rocks that stand in large low-tide pools flickering with tiny fish and shrimps. The firm, flat sand is perfect for beach games or galloping horses (Snow White and the Huntsman was filmed there in 2011). There’s plenty here to keep the whole family amused, assuming they don’t regard amusement as something that comes in arcades. The south-facing aspect bodes well in summer, but check the tides and wind.
Just returned from this hotel after a week long cheap family getaway. I honestly cannot fault it for what we paid. I went with my partner, 4 year old son and my 60 + mum. I chose the location for the weather initially but picked the hotel as I wanted to keep my son happy throughout the day and this seemed like a good bet with the 2 water slides, beach and 4 pools.

My sister Nhu and my brother in law Peter live in Sydney. So the rare opportunity that they were in Byron Bay for their baby moon, I drove down for the day to capture some maternity photos for them. I capture photos for so many families, but mine are all spread out ( brother in France, other sister in Singapore)… so it means so much to get the chance to take some for my own family. xxx
Oh my goodness I take my hat of to this amazing little family! Michaela and John D are both doctors in the Transkei, and were on their way down to Stellies for the holidays with their adorable little girls Peyton and Eva. Michaela contacted me to ask if I could do the shoot for them in Stellies, but since I got married in October I have relocated to Jeffrey’s Bay. They were passing that way en route to Stellies so why not do the shoot in Jeffrey’s Bay? An excellent idea we thought- we could do a late afternoon shoot. BUT because J-Bay’s beach faces the east it means that to get the golden hour light one needs the sunrise and not sunset.
John D and Michaela- your family is gorgeous and you make the most amazing parents. Fanie and I had such a great time with you and can’t get over how cute Evie and Peyton are! My word!
